The Gunners return to the Emirates after a successful Champions League bout in Marseille this week, where they defeated their Group F opponents on an eleventh-hour goal from Aaron Ramsey. They return home Sunday to face Stoke City, who certainly won't make things easy for Arsenal.
Tony Pulis' side has been a rather tricky force so far this season, only going beaten in two of their last six. But the Potters' shooting accuracy leaves much to be desired, and Arsenal have scored in every match where the two have squared off since their promotion back to the Premiership.
Further complicating matters for the Gunners is the ever-growing injury list, as Carl Jenkinson is now out for an indeterminate amount of time with a knee injury sustained in the match against Marseille, Kieran Gibbs is still doubtful and Thomas Vermaelen will not return until Oct. 29. But some promising performances from earlier this week—including a cracking night for centre-back Laurent Koscielny and the resurgence of midfielder Tomas Rosicky—also provide reasons to be optimistic.
